  • Birds, Wind and an Old Guy.

Birds, Wind and an Old Guy.

Birds occupy a very large part of our world, as far as I know they are in every corner of the earth. It is impressive to look skyward to see a flock of Pelicans or Geese in formation 1,000 feet or more high. Nearly every bird I have watched in the wind seems to enjoy…

  • Four Wildfires within View of the Porch.

Wild fires are a fact of life during late summer in California. Four are easily seen from many locations East of the Diablo Range of Mountains. These are now under control, but many others throughout the State are raging out of control.

  • This is a Good Day.

This may be the shortest Blog I’ve written yet.

  • Blue Heron

The waves don’t bother them, if the wind does it’s not shown however they show up in greater numbers when the wind is down. They are a joy to watch with or without the wind they are always actively on the search for another meal.

  • Fledgling Dove Stuck on a Wire.

As I recall Foghorn Leghorn said it, and I use it all of the time. It must have been written by someone who was watching Doves it goes such; “Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.” If you dought it just watch a Ring Necked Dove land.

  • Hummingbird; She was Hard to Photograph

While taking pictures this morning an Osprey flew overhead, much too high for me to take a picture of. Immediately after a Red Tailed Hawk flew over letting loose with it’s shrill call, most likely looking for his mate. I am confident it was a male judging by it’s size, the males are considerably smaller…
