Organic Fertilizer.
The reason I raise Earthworms is to use the castings (manure) in my vegetable garden. Uses include brewing them into tea, as well as distributing the scat around the base of the plants.

Hummingbird; She was Hard to Photograph
While taking pictures this morning an Osprey flew overhead, much too high for me to take a picture of. Immediately after a Red Tailed Hawk flew over letting loose with it’s shrill call, most likely looking for his mate. I am confident it was a male judging by it’s size, the males are considerably smaller…

Solitary Flowers.
A photograph hides the wind, and although taken with the Sun unobstructed making the image a bit bright it brings out the colors. I may have missed the flower without it shining bright.

Milk Weed; I’ve Got Plenty
I thought a Monarch was in the yard yesterday, but it was a butterfly displaying the same color scheme but it sported the wrong colors. I looked online to see if the eggs are sold commercially, I have yet to discover an outlet.

The Cattle in the Pasture
To look at it now it’s hard to believe a full City was on that Pasture during the turn of the 20th Century. I don’t know why it is no longer there but it was over during the Great Depression.

Attempted Scams; I may be Old but I’m not Stupid.
For internet scammers being an older person somehow translates as being stupid. It’s not often the case and when we are confronted with it we need to set them straight. It’s not hard to out think them, they are smart but also arrogant and that is their down fall.

Summer in the Western States; A Hat goes A Long Way Keeping a Head from Sunburn.
I learned a lesson many years ago when I first moved to Sun filled California. I suffered a bad sun burn on my follicle challenged head. I have since never spent longer than a few minutes without a hat in the harsh Western Sunshine.

That was a bit too much activity, too early in the morning for an old guy to handle. One thing is for sure, I’m going to sleep well tonight after all of that I’m exhausted and it’s just now 8:30 am.

Another Day Another Buck 75.
I have been her urban renewal project for many years, I am nearly domesticated. I’m not suppose to wash my hands in the kitchen sink, it’s not like I do all of the time. Mostly its only when she’s not at home because my chances of being caught are much decreased.
